Bearing Operation Check

After the bearing is installed, in order to check whether the installation is correct, an operational inspection should be carried out. The small machine can be rotated manually to ensure smooth rotation. The inspection items include foreign matter, scars, indentations, poor installation, unstable torque caused by poor mounting seat processing, installation errors caused by too small clearance, and excessive torque caused by excessive seal friction. If there is no abnormality, the power supply can start to run.

Large machinery cannot be rotated manually, so immediately cut off the power after starting no-load, and the machine is idle. Check the rotating parts for vibration, noise, contact, etc., confirm that there is no abnormality, and enter the power operation.

During power running, it starts at low speed with no load and gradually increases to the specified conditions of rated operation. During the test run, the inspection items are whether there is abnormal sound, bearing temperature change, lubricating oil leakage or discoloration, etc. If an abnormality is found, stop the operation immediately, inspect the machine, and remove the bearing for inspection if necessary.

Bearing temperature can generally be inferred from the external temperature of the bearing housing. However, it is more accurate to use the oil hole to directly measure the temperature of the outer ring of the bearing. The bearing temperature gradually increases from the start of operation, and generally stabilizes after 1 to 2 hours. If the bearing is installed improperly, the temperature will rise sharply, causing abnormally high temperature. The reasons include too much lubricating oil, too small bearing clearance, poor installation, and too much friction in the sealing device. In the case of high-speed rotation, the wrong choice of bearing structure and lubrication method is also one of the reasons.

The stethoscope is used to detect the rotating sound of the bearing, which has the characteristics of strong metal noise, abnormal sound, and irregular sound. The reasons include poor lubrication, poor shaft or bearing seat accuracy, bearing damage, and foreign matter intrusion.
